STATEMENT

“ The girl walked in the hills, stumbled over dead animals…”

Expressing ideas of our existence through art are important and fascinating for me.
In the series of my works entitled "Toward Reality” I try to talk about it. I think that we have an intuition of the unknown or God. So, to my representational images, I add a gold pigment, which for me symbolizes this intuition the best. (Gold was traditionally used to express spirituality: for instance, there were the illuminations from the Middle Ages). Thus, I unify, for example, digital photographs with gold threads or fabric. People, animals, and nature in different stages of life, from birth to death, are the subjects of this series. My goal is to create works which will look like a notes.
Recently, ecological issues, such as the extinctions of animals, are for me most important. My last project is about the vanishing of birds, especially the Passenger Pigeon.

To most effectively express my ideas I experiment with a variety of medias, including assemblage, digital photography, installations, and prints. In these works the gold is always noticeable.
